The History of Chinese Tassels and Amulets
Tassels and amulets have been in existence for as long as the mother country China itself. The earliest amulets discovered dates back to 9,000 years ago.
The ancient Chinese believed that tassels and amulets collected and channeled Qi, or energy. This is the universal energy that permeates all living things and is the source of all creation. Tassels and amulets have, from the very beginning of China's earliest human settlements, been worn as a mystical protector against all unseen evil and bad luck.
The wearing or toting of tassels or amulets is further believed to enable a person's destiny enhancement by increasing their power to attract good luck. The symbolic shapes and mystical symbols often carved on tassels and amulets vary from incantation inscriptions to animal and people figures. The ancient Chinese had a profound understanding of their place in the Cosmos and Jade artifacts in the shape of amulets certainly seem to have preserved these mystical concepts that come from the dawn of civilization.
